After
a ten year marriage, I got divorced at
the age of 36 years. I,
too, was frustrated with spinning my wheels
in the singles world with men who were
mostly nice people, but just not right
for me. In
my search to learn how not to repeat the
mistakes of my past, I read many books and
attended seminars on the subject of dating,
romance and relationships. I
stumbled upon a dating coach and I said,
why not try this. I
had already been to countless singles events,
tried internet dating and two rather unhelpful
dating services.
Once
I became clear on who I wanted and needed
to have in my life, I started to attract
those kinds of men. The coaching work
I did was invaluable in understanding myself,
my key values, my life goals and the type
of partner who would be my best possible
fit. I became
able to tell whether someone had the potential
to be a good partner for me and stopped wasting my time on men
who were unable to make me happy.
In
less than a year’s time of the
coaching, I met Alan, my now husband, at
the age of 41 in June 2001. Within
six months we were engaged and married thirteen
months after we met. Our ability to
communicate in a caring, constructive manner
and request what we need from each other
is what makes our relationship work. This
is my passion and I have pursued life coaching
as a career so I may help others who struggle
with dating and relationships.
There
is a better approach
for dating and
relationships!
